Norwegian to Bring Back UK-Puerto Rico Flights

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - March 27, 2016

Norwegian is bringing back its flights to Puerto Rico.

The low-cost carrier announced that it would be bringing back the United Kingdom’s only direct flights to Puerto Rico beginning in November.

The carrier first launched the flights in the recent winter season.

Beginning Nov. 2, Norwegian will continue its service with two weekly flights from Gatwick to San Juan on the brand’s 787-9 Dreamliner.

“With our 787 Dreamliners flying nearly full it’s no surprise Puerto Rico is back by popular demand,” said Thomas Ramdahl, Chief Commercial Officer at Norwegian. “This coveted route is the cheapest gateway to the Caribbean and nearly 25,000 British holidaymakers have taken advantage of our affordable flights in comfortable brand new aircraft. With Norwegian set to return to the shores of Puerto Rico, we will continue to deliver a high quality service and boost tourism by being the sole carrier of choice for Brits.”
