Grenada has a new focus on “local.”

The country’s Ministry of Economic Development, Planning, Trade, Cooperatives and International Business has launched its new National Buy Local and Made in Grenada Campaign.

The government is urging the entire population to support local manufacturers by buying local products and services.

The campaign runs from through March 27, and is expected to bring benefits to the country’s manufacturing sector while also increasing appreciation and awareness of local industry.

One of the main components of the campaign will entail a Buy-Local Week, slated to take place the week of February 1-7,

Buy-Local Week will culminate with a Made in Grenada Expo at the Grenada National Stadium from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on February 7.

Grenada’s government said it was inviting manufacturers who wish to exhibit at the Expo to register with the Ministry of Trade at the Financial Complex at the Carenage.
