It’s one of the Caribbean’s high-fashion homes: St Barth.

But now the tony French Caribbean island has its first true Caribbean boutique, the brainchild of entrepreneur Laurent Gerville-Reache.

It’s called Coat of Arms, and it’s a fashion house specializing in the world of the Caribbean.

The shop, which is located in the La Crémaillère mall, features clothing and accessories that celebrates the islands of the Caribbean, with a signature coat of arms for every Caribbean island that adorns everything, with a focus on golf and polo apparel.

Naturally, the concept store has its own Coast of Arms St Barth line, which is actually an official product of the Collectivity of Saint-Barthelemy following an agreement signed in 2011.

“We always wanted this brand to be THE Caribbean luxury brand,” says Gerville-Reache. “More than that, an identity brand inspired by heraldry and history and another way of thinking in travel fashion.”

Gerville-Reache, who was one of Caribbean Journal’s 25 Most Interesting People in the Caribbean in 2013, says the shop is a place that balances Gustavian classicism with a Caribbean colour touch.

It’s just the beginning, though, for the brand, which is continuously expanding and is even planning a pop-up store in the Hamptons.
