The Organization of American States will soon have a new Secretary General.
Incoming Secretary General Luis Almagro Lemes will assume office in a ceremony on May 26 at the Hall of the Americas in Washington, DC.
Almagro is the former Foreign Minister of Uruguay.
He was elected by the Hemispheric body in March.
Outgoing SG Jose Miguel Insulza has served in the role since 2005.
