A delegation of military officials from Brazil visited Antigua and Barbuda this week.

The seven-member delegation came after a series of pledges by Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff during Antigua Prime Minister Gaston Browne’s recent visit to Brazil, the government said.

Antigua said Brazil has offered to map the seabed around the country with “very sophisticated equipment” and to help in demarcating maritime borders between Antigua and Barbuda and some of its regional neighbours.

Additionally, Brazil will help train Antiguans and Barbudans to become merchant seamen.

The delegation held talks with Browne, Attorney General Steadroy Benjamin and other Antiguan officials.
