British Airways will be launching nonstop flights to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic later this year, the carrier announce.

The Gatwick-based flights, which will launch Oct. 26, will be British Airways’ first-ever nonstop flights to the destination.

That company said the new service would mean extra seats on flights to Antigua; flights to Antigua had previously continued on to Punta Cana three times a week.

“These extra flights mean families and holiday-makers will have even more choice where to enjoy the winter sunshine,” said Colm Lacy, commercial director for British Airways at Gatwick.

The flights to Punta Cana would start at around £592, or around $974, including taxes, fees and charges.
