Barbados and Switzerland are looking at ways to strengthen their bilateral relations, according to the Barbadian government.

Barbados Industry Minister Donville Inniss recently held a meeting with Swiss Ambassador to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, Sabine Ulmann Shaban, discussing potential avenues of cooperation including tourism and hospitality.

Inniss also said the area of foreign languages was one in which Barbados could benefit through relations with Switzerland.

On the tourism front, Shaban said it was “important to create synergies within the sector,” with student exchanges one possible way to do so.

The two countries first established diplomatic relations in March 1980.
