The arrival hall at the Robert L Bradshaw International Airport in St Kitts is set to begin this month, according to Jonathan Bass, CEO of the St Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority.
The airport has already embarked on a project to improve the temperature control system and to replace underground electrical cables. Both of those projects are set for completion by the middle of this month.
St Kitts’ airport is also in the midst of construction on a 750-kilowatt solar farm, supported by the Taiwanese government.
The arrival hall will increase by 1,600 square feet, with room for an additional 200 passengers. There will also be four additional positions for immigration officers at the terminal.
“his project should be completed by the end of October just before the peak season begins,” Bass said, adding that the expansion was part of a wider effort to modernize the terminal.
