Four Seasons has officially opened its new Safari Lodge Serengeti in Tanzania, and a Nevisian will be in charge of the cuisine.
As Caribbean Journal reported earlier this year, helming the resort’s culinary options will be Nevis native Curtis Smithen, the former executive sous chef at the Four Seasons Nevis and the former Four Seasons in Great Exuma.
The 77-guest-room property includes 12 suites with plunge pools and five free-standing villas. It will include several restaurants, including Kula’s, Maji Bar, Boma Grill and Sundowner Bar.
“It’s great to be in Africa, where each day brings a new wonder,” says James Kostecky, general manager and Four Seasons veteran, in a release.
Boma Grill will feature African grilled dishes using locally sourced produce, in keeping with Four Seasons’ practice in Nevis.
Smithen has said he would like to eventually open a culinary school in Nevis.
