St Lucia Prime Minister Kenny Anthony Meets With OAS’ Albert Ramdin

St Lucia Prime Minister Dr Kenny Anthony met in St Lucia this week with Ambassador Albert Ramdin, the Assistant Secretary General of the Organization of American States.

The meeting with Anthony, who is the current Chairman of CARICOM, focused on OAS’ support to St Lucia and the Caribbean through ongoing development initiatives.

The two sides additionally discussed the exploration of inter- and intra-regional trade and investment opportunities, along with the strengthening of electoral institutions following the OAS’ report on the country’s November 2011 elections.

Ramdin, who came to St Lucia for a two-day visit, also met with External Affairs and International Trade Minister Alva Baptiste, discussing the need for a disaster preparedness and mitigation plan for the Caribbean region.
