There were reports of light shaking in Puerto Rico after a 4.0-magnitude earthquake off the island’s northeast coast, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The epicentre of the quake came 17 kilometres north-northwest of the island of Culebra.
The quake was also reportedly felt in the Virgin Islands.
It is the latest in a series of Caribbean earthquakes this month beyond the 4.0-magnitude mark.
Those were highlighted by two 5.1-magnitude quakes: one on the border between the Dominican Republic and Haiti, and another in Anguilla.
On July 11, Puerto Rico experienced four smaller earthquakes on the same day, each around a magnitude of 3.0 on the Richter scale.
