China Vice Premier Wang Qishan announced that the country would be providing $1 billion in loans to the Caribbean to support investment and development in the region.
Wang was speaking at the opening of the 3rd China-Caribbean Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum in Port of Spain.
In the same day, Antigua and China announced a $4.68 million economic and trade cooperation agreement.
