Caribbean PMs Join Barbados Row over Doctors Trained in Cuba
A controversy in Barbados over the training of doctors in Cuba has extended beyond its shores. Last week, Dr Carlos Chase, president of the Barbados Association of Medical Practitioners, in an email to BAMP’s members, expressed concerns about an alleged lack of basic medical knowledge and practical skills among doctors trained in Cuba. Now, two Caribbean prime ministers, Antigua’s Baldwin Spencer and St Lucia’s Stephenson King said they did not agree with Chase’s comments. [Nation News]
