BARBADOS — It’s just another reason why Barbados is the Caribbean capital of motor racing.

Whether it’s the Top Gear Festival, or Bushy Park itself, there’s nowhere better in the Caribbean to watch — or experience for yourself — the joys of motor racing.

But the premise was particularly clear last month with Red Bull Global Rally Cross event at Bushy Park Racing Circuit, which featured notable drivers including Scott Speed, Tanner Whitten, Nelson Piquet Jr and Ken Block.

The two days of racing brought out many thousands of local and international enthusiasts to Bushey Park, which uniquely overlooks the ocean.

It was the latest high profile event at Bushy Park, which has developed into the Caribbean’s premier race course.

Now it’s a prime venue for regional rallies and carting championships.

But it’s not just for professionals — visitors to the island can book a number of speed and driving training experiences using 220hp two-seat racers that go from 0 to 60 in three seconds.
