A villa on Magens Bay in St Thomas has been sold for $6 million, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The property had been placed under a non-contingent contract after talks that began prior to a planned auction with Platinum Luxury Auctions, with the closing occurring on June 22.

USVI Sotheby’s’ Lee Steiner was the listing agent on the deal.

USVI Sotheby’s and Platinum were responsible for the transaction, which was the third-largest residential real estate sale in the history of St Thomas.

The nine-bedroom, 9.5-bathroom home is located directly on the beach.

“Our team is very pleased to post another record sale on St Thomas in cooperation with Lee Steiner and USVI Sotheby’s International Realty,” said Trayor Lesnock, Platinum’s president and founder. “By combining our luxury auction platform with Sotheby’s international marketing pipeline, we’re able to effectively expedite what is typically a very long sales process for luxury Caribbean properties.”

According to Platinum, the buyer, who purchased the home sight unseen, was a US-based businessman.
