St Maarten Tourism Minister Ted Richardson made a working visit to the Netherlands this week.

Richardson’s trip included a meeting with Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs Secretary General Maarten Camps to discuss “areas in the economic arena that overlap” between St Maarten, the Netherlands and Saba and St Eustatius, according to a statement from St Maarten’s government.

St Maarten said the meeting was originally scheduled with the Dutch State Secretary, but “due to unforeseen circumstances” the meeting took place with Camps and his delegation.

Richardson reportedly emphasized the importance of establishing the E-Zone and the recently-announced Bureau of Intellectual Property in St Maarten.

Richardson’s delegation included Chef de Cabinet and Personal Advisor Ludwig Ouenniche and Jaap van Duinkerken from the Tourism Ministry.
