Grenada Names Board of Directors For New Tourism Authority

The Board of Directors has been officially announced for the newly-formed Grenada Tourism Authority, the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation and Culture announced this week.

The new members were officially named in the Grenada government gazette, and will serve for a period of two years.

Richard Strachan has been named the chairman of the Tourism Authority, joined by 10 other members from across the tourism sector and civil society.

The formation of the new authority, which was first announced by Grenada Tourism Minister Alexandra Otway-Noel in September, is part of a strategic plan launched in 2012.

The members are as follows:

Sibyl Alexander, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation and Culture
Aine Brathwaite, President of the Grenada Chamber of Commerce
Danny Donelan, Marketing and Advertising
Shadel Nyack-Comptom, Law
Ian Da Breo, President, Grenada Hotel and Tourism Association
Olson Alexander, Human Resource Manager
Edvin Martin, Royal Grenada Police Force
Charmaine Lalsingh, Hospitality Management
George Andrew, Representative from Carriacou & Petite Martinique
Cosmos Williams, Representative from the Grenada Taxi Association
