A pair of new judges for the territory have been sworn in by Acting Cayman Islands Governor Franz Manderson.

Sir Richard Ground was officially sworn in as a judge of the Cayman Islands Court of Appeal, while Nova Hall was sworn in as an Acting Grand Court Judge.

Both ceremonies occurred earlier this month.

“I want to thank Sir Richard for taking on an important appointment and to serve once again in the Cayman Islands,” Manderson said. “We are all well aware of his excellent judicial and legal backgrounds.”

Manderson also said he was “very certain” that Hall would “do very well, performing to the high standard she has set for herself as the Chief Magistrate.”
