Dominica’s Economy to Grow 1.5 Percent in 2012: Report

Total GDP in Dominica is projected to grow by 1.5 percent in 2012, up from an estimated 0.9 percent in 2011, according to a report from the United Nations’ Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean.

The country’s GDP grew at 0.9 percent in 2010 as well, according to ECLAC.

The Caribbean region is projected to grow 1.7 percent in 2012, following an estimated 0.7 percent growth in 2011.

The Latin American and Caribbean region is projected to grow 3.7 percent overall next year.

The Eastern Caribbean Currency Union as a whole is projected to grow 2 percent next year, led by positive tourism growth.
